Engagement: Hannah & Nathan Beahan, Crazy in Love!

We were down by the embankment in Bedford for Nathan and Hannah’s engagment shoot having a much needed ice cream and we were talking about “their story”.  Hannah dismissed it as not being particularly noteworthy but then told us about it.  It was anything but un-noteworthy (probably not a word sorry).  These two are brilliantly crazy, hence our “crazy in love” title.  ”We weren’t like this until we met eachother” Hannah told us.  After just a few weeks of knowing eachother Hannah had moved in and they planned to have children together and a year later they are to be married, oh and they are in the middle of buying a wedding shop as we sepak too!  They have a beautiful baby girl called Caitlin (who has managed to get into a few of the engagment shots) who Ben and I simply adored so didn’t mind having to babysit while Mum & Dad were having their photos done.  An engagment shoot which turned into a family portrait.  We loved it.  Can’t wait for the wedding, the reception is at The Bedford Golf Course.  We are hoping to hire some golf buggies and have some fun with them!

Engagement Shoot: Dan and Jen

Here are some photos from our shoot with Dan and Jen.  This is our first time doing an engagement shoot and to be honest, we completely love them now.  We had such a great day and got some beautiful candid shots of the pair.

The day started with some white background type shots in our studio but it was evident pretty early on that they weren’t really working.  We needed something a lot more relaxed and natural.  We went for a walk to where they got engaged.  The band stand on the Embankment in Bedford was a great place to start.

Jenny told us as the start of the day that she was really nervous about being photographed but that certainly changed by the end of the day.

We got the following text from Jenny in the evening after the shoot and we realised straight away the real value in doing pre wedding shoots.

“Just wanted to thank you for making a really frightening day into a fun one. We both really enjoyed ourselves thanks to you both. Really looking forward to the wedding day photos now. Thank you so much”

Not only do you get some great shots but you get all the pre shoot nerves out of the way before your wedding day.  It makes such a difference.  Can’t wait for their wedding now.  That point when you know the bride and groom are comfortable and relaxed is a great place to be.

We then went down to the river where they used to go on dates when they first got together.

Our first Blog

So this is the brand spanking new Milkbottle Photography blog!  Its been a long time coming (for us anyway) so thanks for you patience and thanks for stopping by.

Ben and I will be posting our general musings and goings-on relating to our wedding photography on here from now on. It will be loosely based around all the weddings we do but will include pretty much anything else we are doing too.  Neither of us are wonderfully gifted writers but we sure can waffle if left to our own devices so we will try and keep things as concise as possible, promise!

If you are a bride or groom to be and you are looking for a wedding photographer then this is a great blog to read to get an idea of who we are and how we work.
